Warren, Mich. — Art Van Furniture, a leading furniture and mattress retailer in the Midwest, has signed a franchising agreement with Rettig Brothers Furniture, which will become its first franchise store in the state of Ohio.

Located in Findlay, Ohio, Rettig Brothers Furniture, owned by Tony Rettig, will be renamed Art Van Findlay after completing extensive remodeling and expansion in July 2015.

“Rettig Brothers Furniture has been a prominent furniture retailer in Northwest Ohio for 34 years,” says Art Van Elslander, founder and chairman of Art Van Furniture. “Tony Rettig shares Art Van Furniture’s strong commitment to customer service and quality home furnishings at affordable prices, and we are thrilled to welcome Rettig Brothers Furniture to our retail family.”

Rettig Brothers Furniture opened in 1981 in a 3,000-square-foot storefront on Main Street in Findlay. In 2001, Rettig Brothers Furniture completed the first phase of a new 40,000-square-foot facility and in 2003, the second phase of the expansion added another 20,000 square feet featuring in-store galleries.

“To be affiliated with one of the country’s most successful family-owned furniture retailers and to benefit from Art Van Furniture’s buying power is a dream come true,” says Tony Rettig, owner and president.

The new store will carry La-Z-Boy, Natuzzi Leather and Flexsteel, house Art Van PureSleep and Art Van Clearance Center, and feature an Amish Originals Gallery with Ohio’s Amish-made solid wood furniture.

Art Van Furniture operates 90 stores throughout Michigan, Illinois, Ohio and Indiana, including freestanding Art Van PureSleep mattress stores, Art Van Flooring stores, and Art Van Furniture franchise locations. Founded in 1959, the company is family-owned and headquartered in Warren, Mich. For more information, visit artvan.com.
