Big Lots Names SVP, Chief Customer Officer

Columbus, Ohio — Big Lots, Inc. has appointed Stephen M. Haffer as senior vice president, chief customer officer. He joins the company from American Signature, Inc., where he most recently served as chief innovation officer.

Haffer will be a member of Big Lots’ executive leadership team with primary responsibility for customer engagement and messaging touchpoints, including marketing, advertising, brand development and e-commerce.

Prior to Big Lots, Haffer was an executive at American Signature, Inc., the parent company for Value City Furniture and American Signature Home stores, where he served in a number of roles over a 25-year career spanning marketing, e-commerce, information technology and business development, leading up to his appointment as chief innovation officer in 2016.
