Denny’s Expands Partnership with Restaurant Technologies

Minneapolis — Restaurant Technologies is expanding its partnership with Denny’s AWashington Group, installing its total oil management system in 21 total locations. With fried foods comprising more than 44% of the Denny’s menu, the total oil management technology enables this popular dining spot to maintain the food quality and experience that diners expect.

“Optimal back-of-house operations are at the core of our commitment to continually improving food quality and the customer experience,” says Heather Taylor, manager of Denny’s Federal Way, Wash., one of the AWashington Group locations. “Restaurant Technologies is already a partner in more than 200 Denny’s locations, and the results we’ve seen in reduced oil usage, increased employee safety and food quality — all without raising food costs — made this choice a no-brainer for our group.”

Several locations tested the Restaurant Technologies oil management system for increased food quality, ease of use and cost savings. Over the course of the 10-week testing period, locations saw a 22% reduction in oil usage as well as a positive response from managers, employees and customers.

“Denny’s faces a unique business challenge in that it is serving customers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so maintaining efficiency in the kitchen is non-negotiable,” says Dana Slagle, director of national accounts, Restaurant Technologies. “Oil management is a critical aspect of back-of-house operations and is key to achieving safety, food quality and compliance goals in these always-on environments.”

Installation across the 21 Denny’s locations is currently under way and is expected to continue through November 2016.
