Chicago — Eidco Construction, one of the fastest growing general contractors in the United States, has won a 65,000-square-foot renovation project at the Westgate Mall in Brainerd and Baxter, Minn.
Currently in progress, the project was designed by Chipman Design Architecture in collaboration with Ringdahl Architects, and involves a number of interior tenant improvements, along with exterior façade work and the construction of a building addition.
“The assignment has an expedited 60-day schedule for completion of the project and, as the mall sits on a city line, requires that we do work in two separate municipalities. But the team we have in place has the expertise needed to provide best-in-class work regardless of the short timeframe and varied locations,” says Chez Eider, CEO of Eidco Construction. “We have noticed a recent uptick in the number of Midwest retail assignments which is quite an encouraging sign.”
The 260,725-square-foot Westgate retail center has a tenant roster that includes anchor tenant Herberger’s Department Store, Dunhams, Big Lots and a 10-screen movie theatre.
