Englewood Construction Hires Director of Construction

Chicago — Lemont, Ill.-based Englewood Construction has hired Michael A. Podgorny, Sr. as director of construction to build the firm’s presence in the high-end retail and restaurant markets.

Chicago — Lemont, Ill.-based Englewood Construction, one of the country’s leading commercial construction firms, has hired Michael A. Podgorny, Sr. as director of construction.

Podgorny brings more than 30 years of industry experience to Englewood Construction, with previous positions as a principal at Crane Construction in Northbrook, Ill., and senior vice president with Capitol Construction in Wheeling, Ill.
 
“We feel extremely privileged to welcome someone of Michael’s caliber and ability to Englewood,” says William Di Santo, president of Englewood Construction. “This is a major move for our firm and it will undoubtedly build our presence in the high-end retail, restaurant and hospitality markets through Michael’s extensive connections and relationships. Focused on high-end restaurants and retail projects, Podgorny also has a wealth of knowledge in hospitality and building renovation work. In the past, he has worked with such retail and restaurant clients as Crate and Barrel, Smith and Wollensky, Frontera Grill, Weber Grill and Fleming’s Steakhouse in Chicago.
 
“I choose Englewood because I thought it would be the best fit for me and my clients,” says Podgorny. “My goal is to grow Englewood’s business and expand its work with boutique and high-end retailers, restaurateurs and the hospitality industry.”
 
Podgorny’s most recent projects in Chicago include the Siena Tavern in the River North neighborhood and high-end fashion retailer Ikram’s three-story building on Huron Street.
