Great Clips Opens 4,000th Salon

Minneapolis — Great Clips has solidified its position as the global leader and international icon in the hair care industry with the opening of its 4,000th franchise. The 4,000th salon is located inside a Meijer store in Flat Rock, Mich., just south of Detroit.

“We’re honored to open the 4,000th salon and continue to grow this business,” says Christie Czopek, co-owner of the newest salon along with her husband, Brian Czopek. “This is our fourth Great Clips salon and we plan to open another by the end of the year.”

Great Clips operates in 180 markets across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 200 locations opening each year. Great Clips is 100% franchised with 1,200 franchisees.

In 2011, the company was the first in the industry to launch online check-in, which allows customers to check in from their smartphone or computer, saving them wait time at the salon. Today, 30% of haircuts at Great Clips begin with the customer using online check-in and the Great Clips app has been downloaded 5 million times.

In 2013, Great Clips was the first in the hair care industry to introduce Clip Notes®, digital tracking of each customer’s haircut preferences, which are referenced at each visit to ensure customers get the haircut they want. Today, Clip Notes® are kept in the company’s secure data cloud so stylists at any Great Clips salon across North America can retrieve the information and give customers the quality haircut they expect.

“Our success is the result of a simple strategy,” says Ray Barton, Great Clips’ chairman of the board. “From the day we opened our first salon to the opening of our 4,000th location we always put the customer first. We treat the salon owners, their stylists and our corporate employees like family. We want them to be successful and they, in turn, have helped us build the great brand we are today.”

Great Clips, Inc. was established in 1982 in Minneapolis. Today, Great Clips has 4,000 salons throughout the United States and Canada, making it the world’s largest salon brand. For more information, visit GreatClips.com.
