Halco Lighting Chairman and CEO Retires

by Katie Lee

Norcross, Ga. — Halco Lighting Technologies’ chairman and CEO, Allan Nelkin, officially retired from his positions effective November 24, 2015.

Halco Lighting has grown exponentially since being acquired by Nelkin in 1991. Under his leadership, the company has built a reputation for outstanding customer service, quality products and service after the sale.

“Doing what is best for your customers is paramount to any company’s success,” says Nelkin. “It isn’t a set of rules or a policy…it’s an attitude, it’s the right attitude.

This attitude helped Halco grow from a relatively small company to an industry-leading supplier of lamps, ballasts and LED lighting technologies.

The current president of Halco, Kim Cook, will assume the role of CEO, effective immediately. Cook has been with Halco Lighting for more than 23 years. “Allan’s leadership and guidance made him not only a pivotal figure in Halco’s success, but one in the entire lighting industry,” Cook says.
