Newk’s Eatery To Enter Virginia With 10 New Locations

Jackson, Miss.Newk’s Eatery is expanding into Virginia with the company’s latest development agreement to open 10 locations in Fairfax and Arlington counties over the next 6 years. 

Red Alpha Holding LLC, a long-time successful Five Guys multi-unit operator with 10 years in restaurant development and management, will open its first Newk’s Eatery in 2017.

“Red Alpha Holding is based in northern Virginia and has the operational experience and commitment to excellence that makes them an ideal partner as we grow into this market,” says Chris Cheek, Newk’s chief development officer. “Virginia is an important bridge territory between our North Carolina and Maryland franchisees, and we are confident the Red Alpha team will successfully introduce our brand to diners here.”

Now in its 12th year of business, Newk’s serves made-from-scratch sandwiches, salads, soups and artisan pizzas using fresh and flavorful ingredients, accompanied by a unique level of service and Southern hospitality.

Red Alpha Holding is the third multi-unit franchisee to sign with Newk’s in 2016. Combined, the new franchisees will open more than 30 new restaurants in the next 4 years, consistent with Newk’s goal to reach 200 units by 2019.
