Nordstrom to Expand Nordstrom Rack Brand

Seattle — Nordstrom has announced plans to expand its Nordstrom Rack clearance brand by opening 14 new locations in 2013.

 

Seattle — Nordstrom has announced plans to expand its Nordstrom Rack brand in 2013. In an earnings release, the apparel retailer announced plans to construct 14 new Nordstrom Rack clearance stores in 2013. The new stores will be located in Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Ohio, Texas and Washington, D.C. Eight of the locations are slated to open this spring, with the remaining stores opening in the fall. In addition, Nordstrom is expanding the Rack brand into Canada, with the first stores opening in 2014.

Nordstrom is coming off a successful 2012. The company recorded $11.8 billion in net sales, marking a 12.1 percent increase from 2011. Same-store sales increased 7.3 percent compared to 2011.
