BJ's Wholesale Club, Inc. Appoints President & COO

Westborough, Mass. — BJ's Wholesale Club, Inc. (BJ's) has named Christopher J. Baldwin as president and chief operating officer, effective September 8, 2015. Baldwin will have responsibility for business operations including merchandising, logistics, membership, marketing and club operations and will also join BJ's board of directors.

Lowe's Canada Names VP of Real Estate, Construction & Store Design

Toronto — Lowe's Canada has appointed Jeff Boyd as vice president, real estate, construction and store design, effective immediately. Boyd joined Lowe's in October 2007 and has played an instrumental role in the development of the company's real estate and construction function in Canada over the past 7 and a half years.

Cabela’s Inc. Makes Executive Transitions

Sidney, Neb. — Effective August 31, 2015, Brian J. Linneman, executive vice president and chief merchandising officer of Cabela’s Incorporated, will transition from his current position and become a strategic advisor to the company.

Hallmark Names New CFO

Kansas City, Mo. — Jim Shay has been named executive vice president and chief financial officer of Hallmark Cards, Inc. He will join Hallmark on September 8, 2015.

Petco Strengthens Leadership Team

San Diego — Petco has made several key leadership changes, including the addition of chairman responsibilities to CEO Jim Myers' role and naming Brad Weston president. Additionally, Steve Lossing has been promoted to senior vice president, operations. Lossing's previous role will be helmed by Rebecca Frechette, the company's new senior vice president, merchandising.

Foot Locker Names SVP and Chief Information Officer

New York City — Foot Locker, Inc., a New York-based specialty athletic retailer, has appointed Pawan Verma as senior vice president and chief information officer, effective August 10. Verma succeeds Peter Brown, who retired in April after 38 years with the company.

Paul Marciano Names Successor as Guess?, Inc. CEO

Los Angeles — Paul Marciano, co-founder and chief executive officer of Guess?, Inc., has named Victor Herrero as his successor and new CEO of Guess?, Inc. in August 2015. Paul Marciano will replace Maurice Marciano as executive chairman of the board and will continue serving as chief creative officer. Maurice Marciano will remain a director, and has been named chairman emeritus by the board of directors.

Sears Holdings Names New President

Hoffman Estates, Ill. — Sears Holdings has hired former Gymboree COO Joelle Maher as president and chief member officer for the Sears format. In this role, Maher will be responsible for developing the Shop Your Way® member-centric business strategy for the Sears format, managing the Sears P&L and aligning merchandising, marketing, pricing and selling with the needs of its members. 

Express, Inc. Promotes CFO

Columbus, Ohio — Express, Inc. has promoted Perry Pericleous to senior vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer. He will report to Matthew Moellering, executive vice president and chief operating officer.

Kroger President & COO Retires

Cincinnati — Mike Ellis, president and chief operating officer of The Kroger Co., has retired after 40 years with the company. Ellis' successor will be named at a later date.

Edible Arrangements Names New CFO

Wallingford, Conn. — Edible Arrangements International has named Tony DiPippa its new chief financial officer (CFO). DiPippa replaces former CFO George Wilson, who moves over to support Edible Arrangements founder and CEO Tariq Farid in the expansion of Edible Brands and his other ventures.

Aeropostale Executive Vice President Departs

New York City — Emilia Fabricant, executive vice president of merchandising at Aeropostale, Inc., is leaving the company. Effective immediately, the company's senior merchandising team will report to CEO Julian R. Geiger. There are no plans to seek a replacement for Fabricant at this time.

Priority Sign Promotes President and Chief Operating Officer

Sheboygan, Wis. — Priority Sign has promoted Andy Dykstra to president after serving as executive vice president of sales since 2011. Additionally, Geoff Rosenbaum has been promoted to chief operating officer (COO) after serving as executive vice president of operations since 2011.

Orvis Names New President

Sunderland, Vt. — Perk Perkins, CEO of The Orvis Company Inc., has named the outdoor retailer's new president. William R. McLaughlin will succeed Raymond G. McCready, who will retire later this year. A former PepsiCo executive and CEO of Select Comfort Corporation, McLaughlin will assume the post on July 27, 2015.
