Toronto — Sears Canada Inc. has appointed Becky Penrice as executive vice president and chief operating officer. Penrice has been senior vice president and interim chief operating officer since February 1, 2016. Prior to that, Penrice was senior vice president, human resources and information technology.

Skirvin succeeds Ted English, who has overseen the company’s expansion from 27 stores in seven states when he joined in 2006 to 69 stores in 12 states across the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest today. English, who has been elevated to executive chairman, will remain actively involved with the company.
