Real Mex Restaurants Names New CFO

Cypress, Calif. — Real Mex Restaurants, a leading operator of full-service Mexican restaurants, including Chevys Fresh Mex, El Torito, Acapulco and Pink Taco, has appointed Judd Tirnauer as chief financial officer, effective immediately. He joins Real Mex from Wet Seal.

Tirnauer’s appointment capitalizes on the company’s recent momentum. Under the leadership of CEO Bryan Lockwood, Real Mex has delivered 27 consecutive months of year-over-year positive same-store sales in its California locations and is looking to make a major acquisition to expand its national footprint.

Tirnauer has significant experience in specialty retail, financial planning, debt restructuring and organizational development. While at Wet Seal, Tirnauer served as executive vice president and chief financial officer. Prior to this, Tirnauer spent 15 years at Destination Maternity, the nation’s largest specialty retailer of maternity apparel, where he served as executive vice president and chief executive officer.
