Chipotle Sets New Goal to Drive Environmental Sustainability

Denver — Chipotle Mexican Grill plans to divert half of all of its restaurant waste from landfills by 2020. Since 2015, Chipotle has made significant strides towards reducing the amount of food and packaging waste bound for landfills, increasing its diversion rate from 31% that year to 40% in 2017. Now the company embarks on achieving a 50% diversion rate.

Sbarro Selects Revention as POS Provider for Off-Mall Expansion

Houston — Sbarro, a global New York Style pizza concept, has selected Revention as its preferred point-of-sale provider for its off-mall concept, which offers a fast-casual, dine-in experience along with carry-out and delivery service. All off-mall corporate locations have implemented Revention point-of-sale, HungerRush online ordering and R-Enterprise, Revention's cloud-based remote management portal.

Restaurant Industry Veteran Joins The Pie Hole as CEO

Dunkin' Brands Names 3 New Executive Promotions

Freddy’s Opens 300th Restaurant

Indianapolis — Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers opened in south Indianapolis on March 13, 2018. The opening marks the 300th location for Freddy’s. Freddy Simon, the 93-year-old company namesake and World War II veteran, was scheduled to be in attendance on opening day.

KFC Canada to Open 12 New Units by 2020

Vaughan, Ontario — Franchise Management Inc. (FMI) has acquired Saskatchewan-based El-Rancho Food Services Limited. The sale includes all of El-Rancho's 21 KFC assets throughout Saskatchewan and Manitoba and brings FMI's total Canadian KFC restaurants to 85. FMI also operates KFC restaurants in Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Quebec and Ontario.
