Petco Strengthens Leadership Team

San Diego — Petco has made several key leadership changes, including the addition of chairman responsibilities to CEO Jim Myers' role and naming Brad Weston president. Additionally, Steve Lossing has been promoted to senior vice president, operations. Lossing's previous role will be helmed by Rebecca Frechette, the company's new senior vice president, merchandising.

J. Crew Mercantile To Open Second U.S. Location

Chicago and MilwaukeeHSA Commercial Real Estate has executed a lease with J. Crew to open the retailer’s second Mercantile branded store in the country at The Mayfair Collection shopping center (pictured) in Wauwatosa, Wis. J. Crew Mercantile will be located between Ulta and Men’s Wearhouse in the project’s first phase. J. Crew announced earlier this year that the company is opening its first Mercantile store at the Nordstrom Rack-anchored The Shops at Park Lane in Dallas.

Foot Locker Names SVP and Chief Information Officer

New York City — Foot Locker, Inc., a New York-based specialty athletic retailer, has appointed Pawan Verma as senior vice president and chief information officer, effective August 10. Verma succeeds Peter Brown, who retired in April after 38 years with the company.

7-Eleven Signs Master Franchise Agreement To Operate Stores in Vietnam

Dallas — 7-Eleven, Inc. (SEI), the world's largest convenience retailer with 56,400 stores worldwide, has signed a master franchise agreement with Seven System Vietnam Co. Ltd. to develop and operate 7-Eleven® stores in Vietnam. The expansion marks the company's first stake in the Pacific Rim since 7-Eleven entered Indonesia in 2009.

Lowe's Canada To Expand Store Count in Canada

Toronto — In addition to completing the acquisition of 12 former Target sites, Lowe’s Canada also plans to open two more locations in Ontario. Construction is currently underway in Ancaster and Mississauga, representing an additional investment in excess of approximately C$50 million.

Ross Stores Opens 27 New Locations

Dublin, Calif. — Ross Stores has opened 19 Ross Dress for Less® and 8 dd's DISCOUNTS® stores across 15 different states in July. These new locations are part of the off-price retailer's 2015 expansion plans to add a total of approximately 90 stores during the year, including 70 Ross and 20 dd's DISCOUNTS.

Paul Marciano Names Successor as Guess?, Inc. CEO

Los Angeles — Paul Marciano, co-founder and chief executive officer of Guess?, Inc., has named Victor Herrero as his successor and new CEO of Guess?, Inc. in August 2015. Paul Marciano will replace Maurice Marciano as executive chairman of the board and will continue serving as chief creative officer. Maurice Marciano will remain a director, and has been named chairman emeritus by the board of directors.

Sears Holdings Names New President

Hoffman Estates, Ill. — Sears Holdings has hired former Gymboree COO Joelle Maher as president and chief member officer for the Sears format. In this role, Maher will be responsible for developing the Shop Your Way® member-centric business strategy for the Sears format, managing the Sears P&L and aligning merchandising, marketing, pricing and selling with the needs of its members.
