by Katie Lee

Purchase, N.Y. — The Stop & Shop Supermarket Company LLC will begin converting 25 A&P stores it acquired on October 8, 2015. During this process, groups of up to five stores will temporarily close for approximately 7 days and all of the conversions are expected to be completed by November 13th.

The first wave of Stop & Shop grand openings is planned for October 16 and will include these locations:

• East Hampton Store – 67 Newtown Ln.

• Southampton – 167 Main St.

• The Bronx – 961 East 174th St.

• Ozone Park, Queens – 92 10 Atlantic Ave.

• Brooklyn – 625 Atlantic Ave.

Pharmacies and banks within these locations will remain open during the conversion process. While the extent of the remodels and addition of new amenities will vary by store, each store will reopen as a Stop & Shop store and be refreshed with modern decor, updated refrigeration systems, new lighting, state-of-the-art technology, new signage and other improvements.

“We are very excited to begin the store conversion process, and we will strive to minimize the inconvenience to customers,” says Don Sussman, president of Stop & Shop New York Metro Division. “Stop & Shop is committed to improving the overall shopping experience in these 25 stores to meet the quality, selection and savings that customers have come to expect from us.”

The Stop & Shop Supermarket Company LLC presently operates 394 stores throughout Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York and New Jersey. Stop & Shop is an Ahold company. For more information, visit www.stopandshop.com.
