Circle K Opens Franchise Opportunities in Canada

Laval, Quebec — Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. (Couche-Tard), one of the world's largest convenience store retailers with over 15,000 stores globally, has announced new full-service franchise opportunities with its Circle K brand in Canada. The expansion marks the first time the Circle K brand will be franchised in Canada with the offer initially targeting the Ontario province.

Pilot Flying J Adds 58 Locations to Network

Knoxville, Tenn. — Pilot Flying J, the largest operator of travel centers in North America, expanded its number of Pilot and Flying J stores in 2016 by adding 58 additional locations to its network. Through PFJ Southeast LLC, a joint venture with Speedway LLC, Pilot Flying J completed the conversion of 41 former Speedway/Wilco locations throughout the Southeastern United States.

CDI Studio One Designs New Sheetz Headquarters

Philadelphia — CDI Studio One, the architecture division of L.R. Kimball – a CDI Company, has completed the new office complex/operation center for Sheetz, Inc., the $7.2 billion, family-owned and operated convenience store giant. Located on the Sheetz corporate campus midway between Harrisburg and Pittsburgh, the project includes a 115,000-square-foot modern headquarters and operation Center and an adjacent 13,000-square-foot daycare center.

Little Caesars Expands New ‘Express’ Store Format

Detroit — Campbell Oil Company, owners of the Minuteman Food Mart/Marathon convenience store, partnered with Little Caesars Enterprises, Inc. to open the first Little Caesars Express site in the nation in June 2016, located inside one of its convenience stores in Supply, N.C.

7-Eleven Opens 60,000th Store Worldwide

Irving, Texas — 7-Eleven, Inc., the largest convenience retail chain in the world, recently celebrated the opening of its 60,000th store. 7-Eleven® started out as Southland Ice Company in Oak Cliff, Texas, in 1927. In 1946, with stores open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., the name was changed to 7-Eleven. Stores started staying open around the clock in 1971.

Sheetz Opens 500th Store

Altoona, Pa. — Sheetz, one of America's fastest growing family-owned convenience store chains, opened its 500th store on Feb. 24, 2015. The new store is located in Thomasville, N.C.
