The Body Shop Launches in Chile

New York City — The Body Shop International opened its first store in Chile in August 2016, located at Plaza Egaña Mall in Santiago. Chile is The Body Shop’s 66th global market and follows the expansion of Brazil in 2014.

“We are excited to bring The Body Shop brand to Chile. After opening in Mexico in 1993 and Brazil in 2014, it is our third market in Latin America and we are convinced the region offers growth potential and opportunities for development,” says Paul Kimberley, The Body Shop’s director for Latin America. 

The Body Shop has had strong connections to Latin America for many years, with nine of its Community Trade suppliers located in the region. 

Founded in 1976 in Brighton, England, by Anita Roddick, The Body Shop is a global beauty brand. The Body Shop seeks offers high-quality, naturally-inspired skincare, hair care and makeup produced ethically and sustainably. The Body Shop was acquired by L’Oréal in 2006.
