Vancouver — Smartcool Systems Inc. has completed installations in four Kappy’s Fine Wine & Spirits stores located in Massachusetts. Smartcool deployed its new smart thermostat to deliver not only substantial energy savings from its compressor optimization algorithm but a communication platform that allows the customer to view in real time operational data at each site.
Kappy’s have been a leading wine merchant in Massachusetts for over 60 years.
The customer’s cost for the project is being substantially reduced by an incentive from National Grid, a major electric utility in the Northeast, under the terms of a Small Business Program Customer Directed Option Agreement.
“Kappy’s is another strong brand and reference client that we have been able to engage with, to provide the BIoT (Internet of things in Buildings),” says Chris Lefaivre, Smartcool’s executive vice president – North America. “The Building Internet of Things (BIoT) establishes a communications network, which connects to devices allowing monitoring, analyzing and controlling — therefore, providing better operational efficiencies and savings.”
Smartcool Systems Inc. provides cutting-edge energy-efficient and energy cost reduction solutions for businesses. The ECO3 and ESM are Smartcool’s unique retrofit technologies that reduce the energy consumption of compressors in air conditioning, refrigeration and heat pump systems by 15% to 20%, giving customers a return on investment in as little as 12 months.
