Los Angeles — The transformation of Baldwin Hills Crenshaw continues with the recently completed, multimillion-dollar renovation of Macy’s. The extensive renovation included physical improvements to the store as well as the addition of new departments, fixtures and merchandise.

“Macy’s is an important anchor tenant, and the upgrade they completed elevates the shopping experience at the store and significantly expands the product offerings,” says Ken Lombard, senior partner at Capri Capital Partners LLC, the owner of the shopping center.

The physical renovation included new paint, carpeting, white floor tiles, contemporary lighting, modern merchandising fixtures and wall displays. Next month, the main entrance on the first floor will undergo a remodel that features new furnishings, plants and colored concrete.

The Macy’s renovation is part of a comprehensive transformation of Baldwin Hills Crenshaw, which has just concluded a $35 million upgrade, including the addition of new, state-of-the-art movie theaters, several restaurants, a new dining court featuring a kid’s seating area and live entertainment venue. Other improvements include new family restrooms, a new specialty kiosk and cart program, and signage.

Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza is managed by Primestor Development, Inc., a full-service commercial real estate firm specializing in the management, revitalization and development of shopping centers in urban locations.
