Portland, Ore. — Snow Peak, the renowned Japanese outdoor lifestyle brand with a 68-year legacy, has opened its fourth North American retail location, in Seattle’s vibrant Fremont neighborhood. The store is the brand’s first new retail store since the opening of its SoHo location (now relocated to Brooklyn) in 2014.
Snow Peak Seattle offers guests an immersive environment to explore Snow Peak’s carefully curated collection of camping equipment, outdoor living essentials and lifestyle apparel. In addition to product displays, the space will host gear demonstrations, community gatherings and outdoor education events.
“We are looking forward to connecting with the existing hub of outdoor enthusiast groups, families, and individuals growing and thriving in the Seattle area, and Seattle’s CornerStone Campus is the perfect jumping off point,” says Noah Reis, vice president of Snow Peak USA. “Our approach to camping is about helping people spend more meaningful time outside, whether that’s elevating the experience for those who already love it or making it feel more comfortable for those just getting started. We’re excited to be part of this community, to welcome new folks into the outdoors, and to create a space for people to gather and connect, building a natural extension between our Portland flagship and our salt-air sanctuary on Washington’s Long Beach Peninsula.”
Blending functionality with elegance, Snow Peak’s Seattle retail concept embraces noasobi — the art of being outside — as a way to foster deeper connections to nature and one another. The store continues the evolution of the brand’s design language that was first established in Portland and further explored in Brooklyn. For Seattle, the brand focused on creating a calm, elemental space grounded in the Pacific Northwest, designed to feel minimal and refined while remaining warm and inviting. A simple palette of timber, concrete and muted tones creates a natural foundation that feels both modern and timeless.
The 3,700-square-foot space, inclusive of a 500-square-foot patio, was developed in collaboration with evolution Projects, the real estate firm co-founded by Bryce Phillips, founder of outdoor retailer evo.
Founded in Japan in 1958, Snow Peak is a camping brand serving customers in the USA for more than 20 years. Its Japanese-designed, lifetime-guaranteed camping equipment serves as a catalyst for restorative experiences in nature. Snow Peak operates immersive retail locations in Portland, Seattle and Brooklyn, and offers hospitality experiences through its restaurant, Takibi, and its campground, the Long Beach Campfield.
