Captain D’s Promotes Two Company Veterans

Nashville, Tenn. — Captain D’s, the leading fast-casual seafood restaurant, has promoted Janet Duckham and Nancy Ward to chief supply chain officer and vice president of training, respectively.

In her role as chief supply chain officer, Duckham will lead the worldwide purchasing functions, oversee all functions of quality assurance, as well as manage all aspects of distribution and logistics. As vice president of training, Ward’s responsibilities include implementing Captain D’s systematic training programs, creating innovative internal development programs for the brand’s operators at every level, and supporting the company’s dynamic growth.

“Captain D’s talented people are what drives our brand to its fullest potential,” says Phil Greifeld, president and chief executive officer of Captain D’s. “Janet and Nancy have each contributed significantly to the ongoing success of Captain D’s, and we are very pleased to announce these well-deserved promotions. As we kick off a new year with our company uniquely positioned for further growth and expansion, we look forward to leveraging their extensive experience and impressive talent to help us achieve our goals and continue taking the brand to new heights.”

Duckham started at Captain D’s 6 years ago as vice president of purchasing and added the company’s quality assurance department after her first year. She excelled in both roles and was highly instrumental in advancing all aspects of Captain D’s complex logistics, sourcing and distribution, as well as food quality, safety and pricing.

Captain D’s welcomed Ward to the team in 2012 as a human resources manager. She steadily grew to director of training and most recently served as assistant vice president of training. Her accomplishments include the development and implementation of restaurant management training for all levels, establishment of best-in-class new restaurant opening support and new innovative video training programs. Previously, Ward held senior operations roles at Arby’s Restaurant Group and NPC International.

In 2016, Captain D’s closed its fourth successive year of record high system-wide AUV. The brand also produced its 21st consecutive quarter and sixth consecutive year of positive growth. Additionally, Captain D’s experienced a surge of franchise and corporate development, opening 13 locations nationwide in states like Florida, South Carolina, Texas, Georgia, Illinois, Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas and Virginia.

Headquartered in Nashville, Tenn., Captain D’s has 518 restaurants in 21 states, plus military bases around the world. For more information, visit www.captainds.com.
