Chicken Salad Chick to Open First Restaurant in Kansas

Atlanta — Chicken Salad Chick, the nation’s only fast-casual chicken salad restaurant concept, will open its first restaurant in Kansas on July 1 — expanding the brand’s footprint to 22 states. The new restaurant will be located in Overland Park.

Sisters Jo Anne Williams and Cindy Sulzman are the team behind this milestone opening for the brand. In addition to their Overland Park restaurant, the pair are slated to open two more Chicken Salad Chick restaurants in Johnson County in 2026.

Sulzman will be heading up retail operations, catering and merchandising while Williams will be leading business development and back-office operations. As an experienced franchise operator, Williams’ husband, Kirk, will be leading restaurant operations and development for the trio.

“We’re incredibly excited to bring Chicken Salad Chick to Kansas, marking our entry into our 22nd state of operation,” says Scott Deviney, president and CEO of Chicken Salad Chick. “This is a major milestone for us as we continue to grow into new markets across the country. We see great growth opportunities in the greater Kansas City market and are thrilled to make our debut in Overland Park. We couldn’t ask for a stronger team to lead the way than Cindy, Jo Anne and Kirk. Their passion for brand and commitment to our guests will undoubtedly make Chicken Salad Chick a welcome and beloved addition to the local community.”

Founded in Auburn, Ala., in 2008, Chicken Salad Chick has grown to more than 305 restaurants in 22 states. For more information, visit www.chickensaladchick.com.
