Mahwah, N.J. — Ascena Retail Group, Inc. has hired Ernest LaPorte as senior vice president, chief accounting officer. As CAO, LaPorte will oversee Ascena’s accounting, financial reporting and accounting shared service functions.

For the last 7 years, LaPorte held the position of senior vice president, controller at Saks Incorporated. Prior to Saks, LaPorte gained experience at the Movado Group, Inc. as vice president of finance and principal accounting officer and Barnes & Noble where he spent 6 years in finance.
