Seattle — BH Properties, a vertically integrated, value-add real estate investment firm, has hired Janel Jensen as managing director, retail properties. With deep experience in the Pacific Northwest, Jensen will be based out of BH Properties’ Seattle office and will lead the strategic leasing, merchandising and positioning efforts for the company’s growing portfolio of retail and mixed-use assets across the Pacific Northwest and West Coast.
Jensen brings more than a decade of experience shaping vibrant retail environments in both urban cores and suburban mixed-use developments and will play a key leadership role in maximizing the potential of recent high-profile acquisitions, including Pacific Place in Seattle and Anchorage Square in San Francisco and Hazard Center in San Diego.
“Janel’s proven ability to activate and elevate retail experiences in complex, evolving markets makes her an ideal fit for BH Properties as we continue to expand our presence in the Pacific Northwest and beyond,” says Jim Brooks, president of BH Properties. “Her track record, strategic insight and reputation for execution will be instrumental as we reposition iconic assets like Pacific Place and Anchorage Square.”
Prior to joining BH Properties, Jensen served as director and market leader at Unico Properties, where she led the retail strategy for its entire portfolio of mixed-use projects. As a senior associate at Real Retail, Jensen played a pivotal role in shaping Seattle’s retail landscape — most notably supporting the ground-floor merchandising and leasing of Amazon’s World Headquarters.
Headquartered in Los Angeles, with six regional offices, BH Properties has been ramping up its acquisition efforts. Over the past 14 months, the company has acquired 14 new assets and now owns and operates approximately 11 million square feet across 16 states.
