Ashland, Ky. — Big Sandy Superstores has already witnessed a more than 75% reduction in energy consumption per lamp replaced.

Ashland, Ky. — Big Sandy Superstores, a furniture retailer that operates 12 locations, has announced the LED lighting retrofit of four of its showrooms, which average 49,000 square feet, as well as an 80,000-square-foot warehouse. Big Sandy Superstores replaced approximately 700 lamps in order to reduce energy costs and the company’s carbon footprint. To date, the retail has achieved a more than 75% reduction in energy consumption per lamp.

Working with distributor King Cos., Big Sandy Superstores selected LED lighting technology from Light Efficient Design for the project. Light Efficient Design’s LED-8026 is multi-voltage, which made the retrofit easier to accomplish. Light Efficient Design is a division of TADD LLC.

Founded in Ashland in 1953, Big Sandy Superstores has 12 stores in Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia.
