BoConcept Plans to Double U.S. Store Presence in 2019

Washington, D.C. — BoConcept franchise owner Tim Machenaud opened his second store in the Washington, D.C., area at Tysons Galleria on April 19, 2019. With nearly 300 locations across 60 countries, BoConcept’s latest location is a push to increase brand visibility and promote luxury, urban-chic furniture in the U.S. Already well established across Europe, Asia and Latin America, BoConcept is now looking to dominate the premium furniture retail business across North America. With 15 locations in key metropolitan areas of the U.S., BoConcept aims to double its presence in 2019 by partnering with qualified multi-unit franchisees.

Machenaud’s first BoConcept store opened in Georgetown. In 2018, the store had its best year ever recorded since opening in 2001. With his second franchise location opening soon, Machenaud is eager to continue growing the brand.

“We are constantly making an effort to increase brand awareness and marketing, and improve the client experience. We are planning on bringing that momentum to our Tysons store,” says Machenaud.

Machenaud’s newest store speaks to BoConcept’s aggressive U.S. expansion. Among other high-end brands such as Gucci and Chanel, BoConcept is now being represented at a premium mall. Tysons Galleria is the second-largest mall in Tysons and one of the largest in the D.C. metropolitan area. The store’s location in the mall even has increased visibility on the first floor with an outer façade and a long, indoor window to showcase its furniture.

“Tim has been a great franchise partner, now opening his second D.C. area store,” says Steen Knigge, director of U.S. marketing for BoConcept. “By partnering with independent, motivated and service-minded individuals like Tim, it allows us to grow our footprint in America.”

BoConcept is dedicated to building successful stores through entrepreneurial-minded franchisees, such as Machenaud. The functional furniture brand is actively targeting sophisticated retail communities in major metropolitan cities, including Chicago; Phoenix; Scottsdale, Ariz.; Houston; and Austin, Texas.

Since opening its first franchise in Paris in 1993, BoConcept has become a global leader in the design of bold, stylish furniture, with nearly 300 locations in 65 countries around the world. Founded in Denmark in 1952, BoConcept has 15 U.S. locations including a flagship store, which opened in December 2017 on Madison Avenue in New York.
