Dallas — Bonchon, the popular global restaurant concept known for Korean fried chicken, has promoted Greg Buchanan from senior vice president of development to chief administration officer.

Originally joining the team in 2019, Buchanan brought with him both wisdom and leadership that led to the launch of new business strategies that have ultimately led Bonchon to become one of the fastest growing brands in its category today. In his new role, Buchanan will lead the U.S. finance, accounting and supply chain teams in addition to his current work leading franchise development, construction and real estate. Prior to joining the Bonchon team, Buchanan held executive roles at TGI Friday’s, Darden and La Madeleine.

“Greg has made a monumental impact on Bonchon as we work to expand the brand to 400 units in the U.S. by 2027. He has helped transform our business strategy, which played a huge role in our brand’s success throughout the challenging months of the pandemic,” says Flynn Dekker, CEO of Bonchon.

In addition to Buchanan’s promotion, Bonchon has also named Carrie Goff as the new vice president of human resources. Goff will focus on bringing in talented team members, continuing to manage the hybrid work environment, and driving recruiting efforts. She previously held leadership positions at Black Eyed-Pea, Texas Winds, Which Wich and more.

“Carrie’s role will be key to the advancement of our team and mission as she pursues a series of positive changes including hiring top talent to fuel our growing brand,” adds Dekker.

Bonchon, which translates from Korean to English as “my hometown,” is known for its signature Korean fried chicken that is hand battered and double-fried to achieve its signature crunch. Bonchon launched in Busan, South Korea, in 2002; it began expanding across the U.S. in 2006.
