Palm Beach, FL — Menin Development and Cabela’s Incorporated, a leading retailer of hunting, fishing and outdoor gear, have partnered to open a store at Menin’s Magnolia Park in Greenville, S.C. — marking Cabela’s first location in the Southeast.

Cabela’s expects to open the store in spring 2014. The 100,000-square-foot store will become a feature retailer at Magnolia Park, a regional mixed-use project being re-developed at the junction of Interstates 385 and 85 and Woodruff Road. Magnolia Park, formerly the Greenville Mall, presently spans more than 500,000 square feet on an 85-acre campus. A 60,000-square-foot Toys R US/Babies R US superstore and a 35,000-square-foot retail building featuring Jared Jewelers and Firebird’s Wood Fired Grill are presently under construction with additional store openings to occur throughout 2013. Prior to the end of 2014, Magnolia Park will see the opening of an additional 500,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and entertainment tenants, including a 150,000-square-foot “lifestyle retail” section set to be announced in the near future. In addition, a hotel of up to 180 rooms will be built alongside I-385.

“South Carolinians are part of an exceptional outdoor tradition and share the Cabela’s lifestyle and values. We wanted to build a store in the Greenville area to recognize that,” says Cabela’s CEO Tommy Millner. “We are also excited about the opportunity to expand our retail footprint in the Southeast.”

“We are excited that Cabela’s has chosen Greenville for its first South Carolina location,” says Knox White, the mayor of Greenville. “We welcome Cabela’s and look forward to their opening.”

The building’s exterior will reflect Cabela’s popular store model with log construction, stonework, wood siding and metal roofing. A large glass storefront will allow customers to view much of the store’s interior. The inside will feature the company’s next-generation layout, designed to surround customers in an outdoor experience, including museum-quality wildlife displays and trophy animal mounts displayed on a mountain. The store will also feature a gun library, bargain cave, fudge shop and indoor archery range. The start of construction is still to be determined.

“We are pleased and proud that Cabela’s has chosen Magnolia Park as their point of entry into the Southeast,” says Craig Menin, president of Menin Development. “The fact that Cabela’s, with all of the various options available to it, chose Magnolia speaks directly to the quality of our market and of our project.”

Currently, Cabela’s operates 40 retail stores across the United States and Canada. Cabela’s Incorporated, headquartered in Sidney, Nebraska, was founded in 1961.

Menin Development, Inc. has been a privately held owner, developer and manager of commercial real estate since its founding in 1985.
