Dallas — Cadence McShane Construction Company has been selected to provide comprehensive renovation and construction services for the first phase of a multi-phase renovation assignment at the Golden Triangle Mall, located at I-35E and Loop 288 in Denton, Texas. The construction assignment includes the completion of numerous interior upgrades and improvements to 75,167 square feet of the existing shopping mall property.
GTM Development Ltd., an entity created by The MGHerring Group and Cencor Realty Services, purchased the Golden Triangle Mall in November 2011 and immediately began planning and designing the upgrades and improvements to the one-story shopping mall property. Originally opened in 1980, the Golden Triangle Mall was the first enclosed mall in Denton County encompassing nearly 765,000 square feet. Today, the mall is home to 90 specialty stores anchored by Dillard’s, Macy’s, J. C. Penney and Sears.
The Phase 1 renovation program will not impact retailer stores or shoppers since the majority of construction upgrades completed by Cadence McShane project team will be conducted after closing hours. The interior improvements will include upgraded lighting, opening of existing skylight coves and the replacement of existing ceilings and flooring throughout the common areas of the mall to provide a modern aesthetic to the existing structure. The renovation project is scheduled to be completed in early fall 2012.
“Cadence McShane’s previous construction assignments on behalf of developer, The MGHerring Group, provided a solid foundation for our choice as contractor of this new renovation assignment at the Golden Triangle Mall,” says Neal L. Harper, president of Cadence McShane. “In addition, our retail experience including working within occupied spaces and our dedication to quality and safety will provide noticeable upgrades to the Golden Triangle Mall to facilitate higher foot traffic and sales revenue at this retail establishment.”
C.M. Architecture, P.A. is providing the architectural services for this assignment.
