Cinnaholic Set for Rapid Growth in 2021

by Katie Lee

Atlanta — Cinnaholic, a gourmet vegan bakery, is set to open 20 new locations across the country this year. The brand also experienced a successful 2020: it signed agreements for new franchise locations across 20 new markets including Ann Arbor, Mich.; Portland, Ore.; Philadelphia; New Jersey; and Phoenix.

Since June 2020, the brand has also opened locations in new markets including Raleigh, N.C.; Chicago; San Antonio; Baltimore; Birmingham; Tulsa, Okla.; Little Rock, Ark.; and Tyler, Texas. As Cinnaholic sets its sights on continued growth in 2021, it seeks out qualified single-unit and multi-unit investors with the goal of expanding to Austin, Texas; New York City; Boston; Miami; Orlando, Fla.; Tampa, Fla.; and Nashville, Tenn.

“Our franchise model has proven successful time and time again. Amid the pandemic, our existing franchisees were able to continue operations without temporarily closing their doors,” says Spencer Reid, president of Cinnaholic. “We’ve closed an extremely successful year in terms of franchise sales and are excited to continue the momentum as we look to excel growth in 2021!”

Last year, Cinnaholic phased in a new, technology-advanced online pickup and third-party delivery ordering platform. The impact of the online ordering system was felt immediately. Cinnaholic closed out 2020 with an overall system growth of 29%.

In addition to low startup costs and manageable operations, franchise owners are provided extensive corporate training as well as real estate, construction, operations, marketing and grand opening support.

The flexible business model works well in upscale lifestyle centers, major city centers and near college campuses. A notable contributor to franchisees’ success is the relatively low cost of owning and operating a Cinnaholic location, specifically the small footprint (around 1,000 square feet) and low food and labor costs.

Founded in 2009 in Berkeley, Calif., Cinnaholic is the only gourmet bakery that allows customers to completely customize cinnamon rolls with more than 20 frosting flavors and over 20 topping choices. Each Cinnaholic cinnamon roll is 100% vegan and free of dairy, lactose, eggs or cholesterol. The company currently has 50 locations. For more information, visit www.cinnaholic.com.
