First KAO Bar & Grill, a Container Restaurant, to Open in April

Miami — Co-founder Matias Pagano and The KAO Group — the minds behind South America’s Sushi Club concepts, as well as KAO Sushi & Grill in Coral Gables, Fla., and J&J Fresh Kitchen in Boca Raton, Fla. — are set to open the first KAO Bar & Grill concept in Hallandale Beach this April. The two-story restaurant will be the area’s first container project, adding a contemporary and vibrant spin to the neighborhood with colorful hand-painted murals by artist Falopapas and flavorful Argentine grill-inspired cuisine.

The entire two-story, 5,000-square-foot restaurant, located at 11 NE First Ave., is made from old shipping containers. Repurposed and hand-painted, the unique structure will serve as a vessel for KAO Bar & Grill’s delicious food, alfresco patio, live entertainment and a wide selection of beers, wines and craft cocktails at the intimate bar.

Anchored by a 14-seat bar, the patio is adorned with natural wooden accents, plush lounge chairs, sofas and soft ambient lighting. Floor-to-ceiling windows surround the walls of the main dining room, creating an open and inviting atmosphere for guests to feel connected to the bustle of the outdoors.

“We’re thrilled to bring our first container restaurant project to Hallandale and to share our passion for Argentine and American cuisine with the community,” says Pagano. “There’s nothing more satisfying than seeing people enjoy the food and atmosphere you’ve created, and we’re excited to do that in a community with a strong Argentine population.”
