San Francisco — Gap is making plans to expand in Austria and Slovenia with franchise partner.
San Francisco — Gap Inc. (NYSE: GPS) will open Gap locations in Austria and Slovenia through a franchise agreements with partners Magistrat International and Gottex. Gottex currently manages the Gap franchise business in Israel and Hungary, and will handle expansion into Austria. Magistrat International, a new franchise partner for Gap, will handle Gap locations in Slovenia.
Gottex Brands will open Gap’s first store in Vienna in October. The store will be located at the Donauzentrum Mall. Gottex Brands is part of the Trimera Group.
Magistrat will open three new Gap locations in Slovenia’s capital city of Ljubljana. The first two stores — one for adults and the other for baby — will be located at City Park, the city’s largest shopping center. Another Gap location will open at The Emporium and will feature Gap’s full collection of goods for men, women, baby and kids.
Gap launched its first franchise operated store in 2006; the company now has more than 300 franchise stores around the globe.
