KFC Opens Latest Next-Gen Restaurant: The Crystal Bucket

by Katie Lee

Louisville, Ky. — As KFC continues to focus on building and remodeling restaurants with the customer experience front and center, the company has opened its latest next-generation restaurant concept dubbed ‘The Crystal Bucket.’

The new 40-seat, 2,542-square-foot restaurant is located in Painted Post, N.Y., and celebrates the elegant architecture of the original building and history of the area. Inspired by nearby town Corning’s legacy as a glass manufacturer, this new KFC features a unique design fitting for a region known for innovation.

The Crystal Bucket features:

  • A modern curved design, light-filled windows with floor-to-ceiling glass and simple hanging glass pendants with a cathedral wood ceiling.
  • Playing off the fact the building was previously a bank, there is a ‘vault door’ inside that houses the Colonel’s blend of 11 herbs and spices.
  • The latest design features from KFC’s new next-generation concept, such as bow tie chairs, built-in ‘Quick Pick-Up’ shelving, and signage and dedicated parking for KFC app or KFC.com orders.

KFC U.S., which is part of Louisville, Ky.-based Yum! Brands, has opened 14 new restaurant locations during first quarter 2022, resulting in 21 new restaurants year-to-date.
