Local Kitchens Taps Former Veggie Grill CEO as New Head of Operations

by Katie Lee

San Francisco — Bay-Area based micro food hall, Local Kitchens, has recently appointed Jay Gentile as the concept’s new head of operations. He will be responsible for overseeing kitchen operations with a particular focus on the optimization of supply chains and the launch of new locations.

Jay Gentile

Gentile brings more than 28 years of experience in the food and beverage industry, most recently as the CEO and co-president of Veggie Grill and its family of restaurant brands. While at Veggie Grill, Gentile generated over $60 million in revenue for the concept and helped expand the business into six states. Seeing major growth for the rapidly expanding micro food hall, Gentile envisions Local Kitchens becoming a national brand that is able to serve guests in various suburban and urban locations, as well as non-traditional markets such as transportation centers, universities and hospitals.

It is Gentile’s mission to provide more and more communities across the country the convenience and selection from multiple premium partner brands for dine-in, pickup and delivery: the essence of Local Kitchens. Gentile is expected to lead the brand as it rapidly scales Local Kitchens to additional markets, optimizes the service and operations of each storefront and enhances the support to the Local Kitchens staff members.
