Petco Opening 5 New Stores Nationwide; Remodeling 12 in Seattle

San Diego — In keeping with its fast-paced 2016 growth plan, which includes 26 new Petco stores and one new Unleashed by Petco year-to-date, Petco will open five new Petco stores across the country in July. In addition, the company is also remodeling 12 stores in Seattle, one in San Diego, expanding one store in Heath, Ohio, and relocating one store in Middleburg Heights, Ohio.

The Seattle market makeover and new store openings in July are part of the company’s overall goal to significantly expand its national footprint by the end of the year.

This month, five new stores will celebrate grand openings: Guilford, Conn., and East Longmeadow, Mass., on July 8; Nottingham, Md., and Lexington, S.C., on July 15; and Sturbridge, Mass., on July 29.

Twelve Seattle-area stores will celebrate recent remodels with grand re-opening celebrations on July 29: Seattle (Holman Road, N. 205th Street, 15th Avenue and NE 45th Street); Federal; Kirkland; Covington; Everett; Redmond; Lynwood; Gig Harbor; and Olympia, Wash.

One store will be remodeled and celebrate a grand re-opening on July 22 in San Diego. Another store will be expanded and celebrate its grand re-opening on July 15 in Heath, Ohio. A third store will be relocated and celebrate a grand opening on July 29 in Middleburg Heights, Ohio.

Petco operates more than 1,430 Petco locations across the U.S., Mexico and Puerto Rico, including more than 115 Unleashed by Petco locations, a smaller format neighborhood shop; prescription services and pet supplies from the leading veterinary-operated pet product supplier, Drs. Foster & Smith; and
