With the right size store base, the company will be able to focus resources on locations with the greatest potential and improve profitability.

Fort Worth, Texas — This past Memorial Day Weekend, RadioShack closed more than 1,000 stores, leaving fewer than 70 corporate and 500 RadioShack dealer stores around the country. From its beginnings in Boston in 1921, over the past 96 years RadioShack established itself as the go-to retailer for consumer electronics.
New York City — Aéropostale, Inc. has taken the next steps in its ongoing business transformation by filing voluntary petitions under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. The company has posted an initial store closure list of 113 U.S. locations, as well as all 41 stores in Canada.
San Francisco — Gap Inc. plans to close about 175 specialty stores in North America over the next few years, with about 140 closures occurring this fiscal year. These changes will not impact Gap Outlet and Gap Factory Stores. The brand also will close a limited number of European stores.
