Los Angeles — John Dawson will replace Mel Elias. The two will work together until Jan. 1 to ensure a smooth transition in the company’s leadership.
Los Angeles — The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, a privately held specialty premium coffee and tea retailer, has appointed John Dawson as the brand’s new president and chief executive officer. Dawson replaces Mel Elias, who will assume a position on the company’s board of directors.
Dawson joins The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf from Dunkin’ Brands, where he held various positions during the past eight years. He most recently served as the global development officer of Dunkin’ Donuts where he executed an aggressive growth strategy for the company and lead the day-to-day operations of franchising, development and construction. Prior to joining Dunkin’, Dawson served as the vice president of worldwide restaurant development at McDonald’s Corp.
