Coppell, Texas — The Container Store, leading specialty retailer of storage and organization solutions and custom closets, has added five new company leaders to complement existing leadership. Four months into Satish Malhotra’s role as CEO, he has hired key leaders and added new roles: Dhritiman Saha (chief information officer), Michelle Gill (vice president of merchandising), Robert Higgins (vice president of real estate), LaTisha Brandon (senior director of diversity, equity and inclusion) and Ivet Taneva (senior director of environmental, social and governance).
Saha comes from GameStop where he was the chief digital officer; he has also held leadership roles at JCPenney, Target and Kohls. Previously, this position title — chief information officer — was chief technology officer.
Vice president of merchandising is a new position at The Container Store that has been filled by Gill, reporting to John Gehre, chief merchandising officer. Gill previously served nearly three decades at luxury retailer Neiman Marcus, most recently as a vice president for various departments since 2015.
Higgins joined the team in late April as the new vice president of real estate reporting to CFO Jeff Miller. Prior to joining The Container Store, Higgins was the vice president of global real estate and retail development for Fossil.
Brandon will fill a new role of senior director of diversity, equity and inclusion. Over the past 5 years, Brandon has spearheaded DE&I initiatives across all areas of business at JC Penney and Celanese.
Another new role, senior director of ESG, has been filled by Taneva. She joins The Container Store from Alcon.
