by Katie Lee

New York City — Habitat for Humanity New York City will cut the ribbon on the first ever ReStore location in New York City on June 13, 2015. The 3,500-square-foot Habitat NYC ReStore will be an affordable home improvement center offering a variety of building materials including appliances, furniture, hardware and other discounted merchandise.

Profits from the store directly support Habitat NYC in its mission to build affordable homes in New York City.

The ReStore is stocked with inventory donated by individuals, major retailers, designers and contractors. The ReStore, which is the first of its kind in New York City, is located on Northern Boulevard in Woodside, Queens.

“We are proud to bring ReStore to New York City thanks to our donors and volunteers. This retail store is an extension of Habitat for Humanity New York City and will provide our organization with invaluable support, helping us to continue serving the community,” says Alex Havriliak, acting CEO of Habitat for Humanity New York City.

With the help of thousands of volunteers every year, Habitat NYC has served more than 380 families in the five boroughs of New York City with their permanent housing needs. For more information, visit www.habitatnyc.org.
