Kansas City, Mo. — Trademark Property Company, mixed-use investor, developer and operator, completed the initial renovations of Zona Rosa, a 1.1 million-square-foot mixed-use town center located in Kansas City’s Northland.
“By carefully considering each amenity addition and renovation, we’ve reinvigorated the overall Zona Rosa experience to be a vital part of the community,” says Terry Montesi, CEO of Trademark Property.
Zona Rosa improvements included tearing down a building to create open green space featuring outdoor seating, lawn games and event activities, including The Rink at Zona Rosa, an outdoor ice rink available to the public for skating, curling, pond hockey and events during the winter. The former Town Square has been renamed Central Park and features green space with a new splash park, covered outdoor seating and an event stage for community festivals and concerts. Improved landscaping and public art can be enjoyed throughout the mixed-use development. Trademark’s move to enhance facilities, upgrade building facades and add pathways for better wayfinding collectively brings Zona Rosa to the forefront of experiential shopping. In addition to these changes, the 54th Street Bar & Grill expanded and created an outdoor biergarten and sports court, while DICK’S Sporting Goods also remodeled its Zona Rosa location.
“These upgrades have already impacted the overall Zona Rosa experience,” says Scott Zigler, Zona Rosa’s general manager. “Now, visitors enjoy a multi-faceted experience filled with a new sense of place, in addition to the diverse retail options available.”
