Boston — Ahold USA plans to deploy EnerNOC’s EfficiencySMART™ Insight, a web-based enterprise energy efficiency solution, in the majority of its Stop & Shop, Giant Food of Maryland, and Giant/Martin’s grocery stores. By using real-time data from 630 supermarket locations throughout New England and the Mid-Atlantic region, EfficiencySMART Insight will target and prioritize energy savings and offer Ahold USA enterprise-wide and store-level visibility into overall energy usage and spending.
“Ahold USA has worked with EnerNOC since 2005, and during that time we have gained a much clearer view of our energy usage on a site-by-site basis,” says Paul Grenier, manager of energy at Ahold USA. “EfficiencySMART Insight allows us to take those lessons to the next level by helping us compare usage across stores, identify leaders, and share best practices across all our locations.”
“Customers with a footprint as large as Ahold USA’s understand that an enterprise-level, data-driven approach to energy management is essential to their business, and they expect bottom-line results,” says Tim Healy, chairman and CEO of EnerNOC. “We expect EfficiencySMART Insight deployments to save supermarkets 5% annually on their energy bills, and there are nearly 36,000 supermarkets in the United States alone that can reap those rewards.”
EfficiencySMART Insight is part of the EfficiencySMART suite of applications and services. Designed to deliver energy savings to customers based on their actual energy usage patterns, the suite also includes EfficiencySMART Commissioning, which delivers data-driven persistent commissioning, and EfficiencySMART Services, which offers energy engineering, strategic planning and project design.
