Bass Pro Shops to Open New Outdoor World Store in Tucson, AZ

Tucson, Ariz. — Bass Pro Shops plans to open a new destination retail store in Tucson, Ariz., in late 2024. The opening of the Outdoor World will mark the third Bass Pro Shops location in Arizona, as it continues to expand its presence in the Southwest.

“We are very excited about this opportunity to strengthen our relationship with the sportsmen and women of southern Arizona,” says Johnny Morris, conservationist and founder of Bass Pro Shops. “This new store will make it easier for the people and families who love to hunt and fish Arizona’s deserts and waterways to spend time together in the great outdoors.”

The new retail destination will be located off I-10 as an anchor of Marketplace at the Bridges. “Our team has worked for over 15 years to develop Marketplace at the Bridges into a first-class project for the City of Tucson,” says Frank Egan, president of Tucson Retail, LLC. “Bass Pro’s commitment to our site has secured our position as Southern Arizona’s premier retail, entertainment and hospitality destination.”

In addition to a vast assortment of fishing and outdoor gear for those fishing the Santa Cruz Watershed, the store will showcase industry-leading boat brands. Built by Bass Pro’s White River Marine Group, the boats are sold factory-direct at money-saving prices. The store’s inventory will be tailored to the needs of hunting and fishing in the region. In addition, the new location will display a wide assortment of new off-road ATVs and side-by-side vehicles.

More than just a fishing and hunting store, the retail destination will offer equipment and clothing for all outdoor adventures, including hiking, backpacking, wildlife viewing, camping and other related outdoor gear.

Conservation will play an important role in the store’s mission. The new location will host dozens of events throughout the year aimed at connecting new audiences — and particularly children — to the outdoors.

Hands-on demonstrations and interactive activities will be offered such as “Gone Fishing,” an annual event which aims to introduce families to fishing through catch-and-release ponds, casting games and free fishing seminars with the goal of creating the next generation of conservationists. The store also will support local conservation organizations that protect wildlife and habitat.

Bass Pro Shops is North America’s premier outdoor and conservation company. Founded in 1972 when avid young angler Johnny Morris began selling tackle out of his father’s liquor store in Springfield, Mo., today the company provides premier destination retail, outdoor equipment manufacturing, world-class resort destinations and more. In 2017 Bass Pro Shops acquired Cabela’s. Bass Pro Shops also operates White River Marine Group and Big Cedar Lodge.
