Los Angeles — Fabletics, the innovative and rapidly growing activewear brand co-founded by Kate Hudson in 2013, will be opening 12 new retail locations in 2017. Adding to the 18 existing locations that started opening as of fall of 2015, these new stores will bring the Fabletics retail store count to 30 locations throughout the U.S. in just 23 months.
St. Louis — Knoebel Construction, Inc., a full-service general contractor specializing in retail development, restaurant, grocery and retail construction nationwide, has moved its headquarters from Fenton, Mo., to Chesterfield, Mo., in St. Louis County. The new location more than doubles Knoebel Construction’s space to 9,688 square feet.
Boca Raton, Fla. — Office Depot, Inc., a leading global provider of office supplies and services, has completed the sale of its European business to The AURELIUS Group. This transaction is part of the company’s recently announced international divestiture strategy to focus on opportunities in its North American business.
Deerfield, Ill., and Camp Hill, Pa. — Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc. and Rite Aid Corporation have agreed to sell 865 Rite Aid stores and certain assets related to store operations to Fred’s, Inc. for $950 million. The all-cash transaction is subject to Federal Trade Commission (FTC) approval, the approval and completion of the pending acquisition of Rite Aid by Walgreens Boots Alliance, and other customary closing conditions.
Lexington, Ky. — Fazoli’s, America’s largest fast-casual Italian chain, has signed a lease agreement for the first restaurant in Sioux Falls, S.D., located at 4224 West Empire Place across from the Empire Shopping Gallery. The new restaurant, which will be owned and operated by SD Faz I, LLC, is slated to open summer 2017.
Seattle — On December 24, 2016, REI’s newest distribution center, located in Goodyear, Ariz., achieved LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum certification — the highest level in the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) green building rating system — making it the first distribution center in the U.S. to achieve both LEED Platinum certification and Net Zero Energy.
