Lids Expands Global Brick & Mortar Footprint with First Stores in Europe

Indianapolis — Leading sports retailer Lids is expanding its brick-and-mortar retail presence internationally with the opening of its first standalone stores in Europe. Dollar General to Open 1,000 New Popshelf Stores by End of 2025

Goodlettsville, Tenn. — Dollar General has unveiled plans to open approximately 1,000 new Popshelf stores by the end of fiscal year 2025, including roughly 100 stores in fiscal year 2022. Each Popshelf store spans approximately 9,000 square feet and offers seasonal and home décor, health and beauty products, cleaning supplies and party goods. The target customer is primarily female, lives in the suburbs and maintains an annual household income ranging from $50,000 to $125,000, according to the retailer. Meijer and Dow Roll Out Paving Pilot Program Using Recycled Plastic Bags

Midland, Mich. — In collaboration with Meijer, Dow has enabled a new paving technique using recycled plastic bags to create a more durable parking lot for the retailer’s Holland, Mich., supercenter. This recycled polymer modified asphalt (RPMA) parking lot is a three-phase pilot project that used approximately 12,500 pounds of post-consumer recycled plastic (PCR), which is the equivalent weight of 944,000 plastic grocery bags.
