Warrendale, Pa. — rue21, inc., a leading specialty apparel retailer, has appointed CFO Keith McDonough as interim chief executive officer, succeeding Bob Fisch. McDonough will serve in this interim role as the board of directors conducts a search for a new CEO. McDonough, who has served as the CFO of rue21 for 13 years, has more than three decades of senior leadership experience in the retail industry.
New York City — Bugaboo, a global mobility company whose products enable people to explore and move freely through their world, has opened the company’s first U.S. pop-up store in New York City. Open through November 20, 2016, the store will showcase the brand’s recently launched luggage system, the Bugaboo Boxer, as well as its signature stroller line.
Springfield, Mo. & Sidney, Neb. — Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s Incorporated, two iconic American outdoor companies with similar humble origins, have entered into a definitive agreement under which Bass Pro Shops will acquire Cabela’s for approximately $5.5 billion.

Situated in the Arizona desert, the facility is intended to be one of the world’s most sustainable distribution centers.
San Diego — Petco’s chairman and CEO, Jim Myers, a 26-year company veteran and CEO since 2004, will be retiring. As part of Petco’s long term succession plan, the company’s president and chief merchant, Brad Weston, who joined Petco in 2011, will succeed Myers as CEO as of February 1, 2017.
