CKE Restaurants Adds Chief Global Development Officer

Franklin, Tenn. — CKE Restaurants Holdings, Inc. (CKE), parent company of Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s, has appointed Matthew Walls as the company’s first chief global development officer. In this new role, Walls will be responsible for creating a Global Development Center of Excellence to increase the footprint of both brands domestically and internationally. He joins the company from Domino’s.

“Walls, as he is known in our industry, is experienced in delivering progressive business development strategies, innovative designs and solid partnerships with franchisees,” say CEO Ned Lyerly. “His global experience, strategic mindset and track record for successfully managing a Development Center of Excellence make him a great addition to our team.”

Walls most recently served as senior vice president – global franchise development at Domino’s Pizza. In his 15 years with Domino’s, he progressed through positions of increasing responsibility, ultimately leading Domino’s domestic and international development efforts. Under his leadership, his team set multi-decade records for the most restaurant openings. Prior to Domino’s, he held operations, e-commerce and logistics positions at Yum! Brands and General Electric Appliances.

Walls joined CKE Restaurants on June 7, 2021 and will be relocating to the Nashville, Tenn., area.
