Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers Opens 600th Restaurant

Wichita, Kan. — Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers has reached a major milestone by opening its 600th restaurant on Oct. 12. The new restaurant, which is owned and operated by long-time Freddy’s franchisee Charleston Custard, is located in Beaufort, S.C.

The 600th restaurant is an endcap, no-drive-thru prototype as part of Freddy’s recent initiative to introduce more flexible development formats that can accommodate a wider range of real estate opportunities and support continued brand growth. Additionally, the new location features seating for 65 guests and an outdoor patio.

“Opening our 600th restaurant is an incredible milestone for Freddy’s and an exciting marker of the brand’s continued expansion,” says Chris Dull, president and CEO of Freddy’s. “Our shift towards in-line and endcap models is giving us greater flexibility in how and where we develop.”

Recently, Freddy’s has grown beyond its traditional standalone model with a renewed focus on endcap and in-line restaurants. These build types provide additional flexibility for franchisees while creating new pathways for growth in priority markets. The brand will continue to prioritize growth across the Northeast, Rust Belt, Midwest, Pacific Northwest, Northern California and Florida. Freddy’s is looking to grow in international markets as well, as the brand recently agreed to a development deal for five units in the Philippines.

Founded in Wichita, Kan., in 2002, Freddy’s operates 600 locations across the United States. For more information, visit www.freddysfranchising.com.
