Tampa, Fla. — IFCO, a global leader in reusable packaging solutions for fresh food, has opened its newest service center in Mesquite, Texas, near Dallas. A purpose-built facility in North America, the Dallas Service Center advances IFCO’s mission to create smarter, safer and more sustainable supply chains for fresh foods across the region.
The opening comes at a pivotal time, as growing demand for reusable packaging solutions, increased fresh food shipments, and rising safety and sustainability standards made expanding IFCO’s service center footprint a strategic imperative. After extensive market analysis and site alignment, IFCO seized the opportunity to establish a solid presence in Dallas. The area’s central location strengthens IFCO’s national network, enhancing operational speed, scalability and service quality.

The Dallas Service Center covers 240,000 square feet and includes 15 loading docks capable of supporting multiple high-efficiency automated and sustainable wash lines. The facility at full capacity will employ over 100 team members across three shifts, providing local job opportunities.
“We’re proud to be a key part of the fresh grocery supply chain, and we take our role seriously. We’re proud to serve the growing needs of our customers and ultimately the end consumer,” says Chris Young, IFCO’s senior vice president of supply chain.
Key innovations and environmental impacts at the Dallas site include:
• Latest-generation technology: Showcasing advanced wash and automation systems that prioritize food safety and operational efficiency.
• Crate processing power: Able to service, stage and process millions of IFCO crates to serve the growing needs of IFCO customers in the region.
• A facility with real-world impacts beyond operational metrics:
1. 40+ million reusable crates serviced annually.
2. 450+ million family interactions supported each year, ensuring fresh food reaches American households safely, affordably and sustainably.
3. Over 1 billion individual consumer touchpoints enhanced by IFCO’s SmartCycle commitment to reusability and the circular economy.
The Dallas center will optimize service across IFCO’s North American retail customer portfolio, focusing on efficient routes and supply lanes where RPC reuse can have the greatest environmental and operational impact, proving that what’s good for business can also be good for the planet.
