New Steakhouse Concept, CATCH STEAK, Opening this Fall in NYC

by Katie Lee

New York City — Catch Hospitality Group, known for its successful seafood-centric CATCH restaurants with locations in New York City; Los Angeles; Playa del Carmen, Mexico; and Las Vegas, will open its first-ever sister restaurant, CATCH STEAK. Michael Vignola, former corporate executive chef at BR Guest Hospitality overseeing Strip House & Bills Bar and Burger, will serve as executive chef.

The new concept steak house created by Eugene Remm and Mark Birnbaum and Tilman J. Fertitta, the power players behind Catch Hospitality Group, will combine the authority of a classic steakhouse with the fun, sexy vibe of a Catch Hospitality Group property.

The 15,000-square-foot theatrical venue, designed by Rockwell Group, will take over the former La Sirena space in New York’s Meatpacking District. Set to open this fall, CATCH STEAK will remix memorable steakhouse motifs in a style that is lighter, brighter and fresher than its category counterparts. CATCH STEAK will set the tone for a more approachable steakhouse experience, serving a curated collection of the world’s best cuts and globally influenced dishes in a shareable style.

“I am thrilled to be joining Catch Hospitality Group,” says Vignola. “Overseeing the creation of the menu at CATCH STEAK is a unique opportunity to be part of a visionary team that truly approaches dining differently, creating authentic and elevated experiences through enhanced food, service and vibe.”

CATCH Hospitality Group partners Eugene Remm, Mark Birnbaum and Tilman J. Fertitta have propelled globally-influenced seafood restaurant CATCH (2011) from a standalone New York City flagship into an international phenomenon with successful locations in Los Angeles, Playa del Carmen and Las Vegas at the ARIA Resort & Casino.
