Houston — Shipley Do-Nuts recently celebrated the much-anticipated opening of its first location in the New Orleans area in historic Old Metairie, La. The company will continue to expand in Louisiana and has plans to enter Lafayette and Baton Rouge in the next 12 months.
“We’re excited to introduce our wonderful donuts and kolaches to a new group of potential customers,” says Scott Walker, one of the franchise owners. “Our hot glazed donuts are irresistibly delicious and the response since we opened our doors on April 10 has been phenomenal.”
Shipley Do-Nuts Old Metairie is 100% locally owned and operated by news anchor Scott Walker, businessman Jimmy Licciardi and restaurateur Desi Vega. The general manager is 40-year New Orleans restaurant veteran Lisa Labit.
Founded in 1936, Shipley Do-Nuts originated in Houston in, where it still maintains its offices and a production facility. Today, Shipley Do-Nuts is under the leadership of Lawrence Shipley III, with 300 franchise locations in Texas, Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Mississippi and Tennessee. It has six locations in Louisiana currently.
